Vivien Leigh embodied the famous character of Scarlett O'Hara in GONE WITH THE WIND (1939) so convincingly she earned a Best Actress Oscar, aided by an array of costumes including this one designed by Walter Plunkett (who later earned an Oscar of his own for AN AMERICAN IN PARIS).
