The transformation of Sandy (Olivia Newton-John) into “The One That I Want” for bad boy Danny (John Travolta) forms the romantic musical climax for the film, seen here in a behind-the-scenes photo along with director Randal Kleiser. Though based on a Broadway play, the film added several new songs that have now become fan favorites including the Oscar-nominated “Hopelessly Devoted to You.”
