Seen here in a wardrobe reference shot, James Earl Jones received an Oscar nomination for his performance in THE GREAT WHITE HOPE as a boxer in an interracial relationship who fought adversity inside and outside of the ring. His costar Jane Alexander also received a nomination for Best Actress at the 43rd Academy Awards.
