The single was Tom Jones’ third to reach the Top 40 and was actually the second one written for this film. The first one, entitled “Mr. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang,” was recorded by both Dionne Warwick and Shirley Bassey but exists in the finished film only as an instrumental.
