82nd Annual Academy Awards Governors Ball - March 7, 2010

This year's Governors Ball featured a décor design reminiscent of the late 1930's "Streamline Moderne," but with its own contemporary edge. The motif draws its inspiration from artists such as Paul Williams, whose Saks Fifth Avenue ceiling treatments revolutionized the use of indirect lighting, and Dorothy Draper, whose unique curved designs became prevalent in hotel décor. These influences will meld to form a magnificent ceiling treatment featuring teardrop beaded fiber optic chandeliers. The inspiration of grand clubs such as Earl Carroll's will offer guests a nostalgic journey through Hollywood's Art Nouveau which is uniquely original and candied with post modern flair.
