Film Synopsis

Against a backdrop of political intrigue and social scandal, the talented Edward de Vere, the 17th Earl of Oxford, finds a public forum for his plays when the actor William Shakespeare agrees to pose as their author.  As the former lover of Queen Elizabeth I, however, de Vere finds he has a dangerous foe in the powerful court advisor, William Cecil.
