Let’s get the party started and make your Oscar Bash the Talk of the Town!

Welcome to Oscar Party Central. Who doesn’t love making a celebration out of watching the Oscars®? As long as I can remember, that one Sunday night a year was always special. Whether with my family, friends, fantastic parties in Hollywood, or attending the Oscars last year, it’s remained a constant annual celebration throughout my life. Growing up on the east coast and seeing all of the glamour and excitement brought into my living room, I felt I was being transported to a different place and time. I don’t know about you, but it’s just as magical now as it was then.

For the past 25 years I’ve had the privilege of designing couture invitations and social communications for some of the world’s most celebrated individuals for the most incredible and momentous events. Ironically, my favorite was one of my first, the one I designed 25 years ago. It was for my dear friend Scott Sanders, famous for throwing amazing parties. At the time, Scott headed up Radio City Music Hall Productions and I created something that had never been seen before—an individual, hand-painted film reel, clap board and popcorn box, hand-delivered in Manhattan, by 1940s dressed theater ushers. Literally…it was the talk of the town.

While times have changed, what hasn’t is that every great bash begins with a great invitation. It’s what defines the experience that’s yet to come. And today, after all these years, I love the thrill of trying to find new and exciting ways to help those who love to celebrate do it with a bit more style, wit and personality.

Last year, I had the distinct honor of designing the first-ever Academy Awards® winners envelope and announcement card. As you can imagine, it was one of the highlights of my career!  The highly coveted envelopes were only touched by a handful of lucky winners, yet seen around the world by millions of viewers.

This year I’m thrilled to bring Oscar fans everywhere their very own pin dropping moment of “The Envelope Please”, by making this piece of Oscar history a part of the new Oscar Sunday tradition.
