NETWORK received three acting awards at the 1977 Oscars. Faye Dunaway won for Best Actress in a Leading Role, while Beatrice Strait won for Best Actress in a Supporting Role. Peter Finch took home the statue for Best Actor in a Leading Role, edging out his costar, William Holden, who was also nominated in the same category. Finch's win also made him the first posthumous recipient of an Oscar for acting. In total, the film received five acting nominations; Ned Beatty was also nominated for Best Actor in a Supporting Role.
The only other film to win three acting awards was A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE.
