Jodie Foster took the Best Actress Oscar for her portrayal of Sarah Tobias in THE ACCUSED. This was her first win. Foster was previously nominated for her role in TAXI DRIVER. Two years later, she would win her second Best Actress Oscar for playing Clarice Starling in THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS.
