Inside The Oscars: The Oscar Show

  • By Constance Marshall

Did you ever wonder where the winners go once they have received their statues? Go behind the Oscar curtain in this final installment of “Inside the Oscars.” Rachel Smith takes you backstage the night of the show, and gives you a firsthand account of what it is like to step offstage with an Oscar in hand.

The first part of “Winner’s Walk” is the backstage Thank You Cam, where winners can have an unlimited amount of time at the microphone without fear of being played off by music. Next up, they are asked to sign the official show poster, which goes into the Academy’s vault.

The next part of the journey is all about documenting the night. Entering “Winner’s Lobby,” the official Academy Archival photo is taken with the winner and their presenter. More photos are taken in General Photo, a room filled to the rafters with photographers. Finally, they are ushered to the interview room, the last stop before heading back to their seat.
