The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures will be unveiled in 2017. In addition to featuring interactive exhibitions exploring the art of making films and film history, the Museum will also include a film education center and several theaters. Before the Museum opens, Oscar.com is giving you a peek at some of the artifacts in the Academy's holdings. In this photograph from the 1928 film THE CIRCUS, Charlie Chaplin is dressed as his iconic Tramp character.

The film tells the story of a man who finds work and the girl of his dreams at the circus. In the 1st Academy Awards, Charlie Chaplin was given an Honorary Oscar for acting, writing, directing and producing THE CIRCUS. Check back on Oscar.com to see more artifacts from the Academy Collections.
